- What is expected of the VIR ?
Production. With the exception of the first and last week
the VIR team is expected to put out a 3-5 minute video clip
5 days a week for the duration of the residency.
Community. While a resident in the San Mateo Ecovillage
residents need to participate in maintaining the community
including hosting occasional community meals, and spending
some time in the garden..an average of 3 hours each week.
Party. Tradition should have it that towards the end of the
residency, they throw a small party where they screen their
work and show appreciation for the people they have worked
with during the program.
- How long does it last, how many people can do it ?
Each residency lasts for 3 months and is open to 2 - 3 people.
These people can either work together as a team, or can live
together as housemates while operating their own projects.
Just send us a proposal for how you intend to spend your
residency. Please include links to videos you've done so far
and other material on the net that you've worked with or feel
is relevant to your project.
- What types of video blogs is the VIR program geared towards.
*positive social change*
The possibilities are endless but preference will be given
to projects which make special use of the location and community
in both San Mateo EcoVillage and the Bay Area.
Bonus points are also given to video blogs whose archives
will continue to be useful and relevant after the residency
program has completed, as well as to those projects which
intend to continue.
